Scripts, Boards, and Reference for Character Animation
In my stop motion animation, I plan to show a raccoon stuffed animal who sees a trash can and decides to jump on top and attempt to get the trash. It builds up speed and runs towards the trash can. However, the trash can is too high and the tiny raccoon only reaches halfway up before its whole body hits the side of the trash can. In a cartoon-like fashion, its body hugs the side of the trash can as it slowly slides down it. I want to stage the stuffed raccoon on the right side of the screen, and the trash can on the left side. I’m going to play around with the types of shots I will use while the raccoon is running towards the trash can; it will be a mix of close ups of the raccoon and the full shot showing both the trash can and the raccoon. I want to create a sense of drama and building anticipation as it goes towards the trashcan and jumps, and an abrupt and humorous feeling when it whacks into the side of the trash and miserably fails its mission. Like the last stop motion animation, I will be using the “Stop Motion Studio” app on my phone to film animation.
